136.1The Host is responsible for dry scraping the area of the ice surface between the face off spots with one (1) or two (2) ice resurfacers prior to the start of a shootout, according to the procedure set out in Rule 84.4 of the IIHF Rule Book. The present chapter is intended to provide Hosts with the required minimum medical standards during all IIHF Championships. The IIHF recommends implementing an even higher standard in order to grant all Participants the safest event possible.
